We’ve had lots of rain and there’s plenty to harvest from the garden including apricots, cabbages, carrots, cucumbers, spring onions, beetroot, beans, zucchini, broccoli and kale. I’ve harvested the first potatoes I planted in August and I’m hoping the fine mesh the next lot are under will keep off the psyllid. I’ve got a few in a big pot without mesh to compare how they do. I haven’t tried to grow tomatoes this year because of psyllid and I also haven’t grown corn. Lettuce supply is tight at the moment but it’s a timing issue and soon there will be plenty. Lots of lettuce and other things have gone to seed as it’s that time of year. My garlic has had rust and is dismal. Not sure I’ll bother with that next year either. This week I’ve sown three varieties of lettuce (Vivian, Summer Queen and Arianne) plus beetroot, spring onions, carrots and leeks.
