The day of the Wellington food show was cold, windy and wet. Tess would have gone for a muddy walk anyway but I went to the show with a clear conscience, knowing I would not have ventured into the garden for any more winter preparations.
I love the celebrity chef demonstrations and saw three this year: Sophie Gray with her Destitute Gourmet: Everyday Smart Food for the Family, Cuisine Food Editor, Ray McVinnie’s Eat and Donna Hay’s No Time to Cook: Fresh and Easy Recipes for a Fast Forward World.
Sophie Gray’s version of salsa verde using mint and parsley was an excellent variation as my basil is mostly over. You’ll need some garlic and in Wellington it’s time to start thinking about planting your garlic.
