Garlic time

garlic-ready-to-plantYes, it’s that time of year when I nag you about planting your garlic. You feel grumpy about me nagging you, unless you’ve already planted it, in which case you can bask in a cloud of self-satisfaction. I’m working on the hypothesis that anything can be accomplished in ten minute bursts. I trick myself into doing ten minutes (gardening, piano practice, sewing, exercise). Mostly it ends up being more, but sometimes not, and that’s fine. Ten minutes is enough to plant some garlic. You might need another ten minutes to prepare the area first. But once you’ve done the prep, the completer-finisher in you will be unstoppable and you’ll find the garlic will get planted.

Today I did ten minutes of collecting leaves. I didn’t wait for them all to fall and I didn’t collect them all. Just two wheelbarrows full. And that was enough progress for today. And you?
