Heading to summer

The broad beans are in the ground and the garlic is up. The days are getting longer and the nights are getting colder.

I caught a rat in the trap so it’s clearly time to keep an eye on rodent control. I’ve a theory that dry compost heaps decompose more slowly and are more likely to attract rats and mice so watering each layer as you add ingredients, even in winter, is worthwhile.

Pruning starts for me in July so it’s a time for harvesting and weeding until that starts.
