Real peppermint tea, tarragon eggs, rosemary foccacia, rocket pesto, minted rhubarb sorbet and lavender shortbread. You can easily grow most of the herbs you’ll need to make these and many more delicious culinary delights. Come to the edible herb workshop next Wednesday evening to get recipes, growing tips and enthusiasm. Sample some of the results too of course.

There’s also a Spring seed sowing session on Tuesday – take away a simple system to keep your edible garden full all year. I’m thrilled to keep getting  enthusiastic emails from successful seed sowers who’ve been to the workshop and are now enjoying the fruits of their labours. One said to me this week:

I’ve planted out my beans and mulched them with seaweed. I’ve often had problems with slugs and snails but so far nothing has been nibbled whereas I’ve lost fennel seedlings that I didn’t treat the same way. Seems to be working for corn seedlings too.

If you’re a dog lover you’ll appreciate this cartoon.
