Kew Royal Botanic Gardens have included photos of my ‘hooligan‘ mini-pumpkins in an interpretation panel for their IncrEdibles Festival. Kings Seeds now sells the hooligan seeds only as part of a ‘mini harvest blend’ – a mixture of mini-pumpkins for those who like a lucky dip. Definitely time to order and sow some seeds in Wellington.
Local Wellington botanical artist, Sue Wickison, will be displaying her amazing art at Kew’s Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art from 12 October 2013 in their ‘Black and White in Colour’ exhibition .
I was fortunate enough to visit the Santos Museum of Economic Botany whist visiting Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens recently. Meticulously restored, it’s the last purpose-built colonial museum in the world. There was also magnificent art of all kinds in the Waterhouse Natural Science Art Prize exhibition at the South Australian Museum and local contemporary art cleverly curated in the Heartland exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
