Misty fully endorses the gift recommendations her predecessor, Tess, made. I’ve made some of my own recommendations for gardening gifts too.  Taupo Native Plant nursery has a selection of native trees available in gift packs. A gift that will outlive any of us.

Homemade vegetable dips are wonderful food to share and if you’re dipping raw vegetables (zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, fennel bulb, carrots to name but a few seasonal ones) will increase your vegetable intake two-fold. I added roast parsnip and lemon puree to my dip repertoire this week. I spread some left over puree in an oven proof dish and made two ‘nests’ in which to bake a couple of eggs for an easy lunch. Here are my tips for growing root vegetables and some advice for growing pumpkins, squash and gourds.
