Portable shade and shelter for easier edible growing Thursday 14 November 2019 5:30 – 6.30pm

Fed up with birds, rabbits and wind ruining your crops? Get some ideas for providing your edible plants with shade and shelter for better harvests.

Identify what’s stressing your edible garden most. Is it predators or weather or even humans? See examples of different options for readily available shelter and shade, each with different pros and cons in terms of cost, portability, longevity, aesthetics and ease of use. Everyone’s garden, expectations and budget is different, but in my experience there is a solution for many protection challenges and the most successful edible gardens use different a range of solutions throughout the year.

A Sustainable Backyards ‘bite-sized’ workshop. An hour of inspiration to get your garden growing. Although these workshops are free thanks to sponsorship from Hastings District Council, please register via Eventfinda to secure your place, but only if you are definitely going to attend. Numbers are limited, no door sales.
