Sow your Summer Salad and Herbs Sunday 3 November 2019 1pm – 2:30pm

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

This is a fun, practical workshop to get your seeds sown. I provide the seeds, the soil and the pots. In 90 minutes you’ll learn and practice how to sow seeds that free you from the limitations and costs of buying seedlings from garden centres.

Buying seedlings is often an easy and quick way to fill your garden. However, they’re expensive and don’t offer the variety open to you if you know how to sow seeds.

Take away your seeds sown in pots and a plan for sowing for the rest of the season. Suitable for beginners or experienced gardeners who need something to get them started.

A Sustainable Backyards ‘bite-sized’ workshop. 90 minutes of inspiration to get your garden growing. These workshops are sponsored by Hastings District Council, please register via Eventfinda to secure your place only if you are definitely going to attend. Numbers are limited, no door sales. $10 per person covers costs of materials you’ll use in the workshop.

If we have to cancel for any reason you’ll get your money back. If you can’t come, you can send someone in your place (with your ticket).

Held at The Environment Centre Hawke’s Bay, 1004 Karamu Road, Hastings.

Meet Rachel

I'm an enthusiastic gardener who loves eating things I've grown. Initally I grew and sold boxes of homegrown produce. When I couldn't satisfy the demand, I started teaching my customers how to grow their own. I teach, write, sew and cook. I'm also catching up on learning to play piano. More...
